Maple and Cherry Checkerboard Bowl

This walls of this bowl feature a unique checkerboard pattern of cherry and maple, with a pinwheel pattern on the base of the bowl.  Cutting and gluing the pieces for a bowl like this is a long, painstaking process, with zero tolerance for any error - but the results make all that effort well worth it.  

This bowl measures 9 5/8" across and 3 5/8" high.  It is finished with all-natural, non-toxic, non-allergenic, food-safe walnut oil.  If used as food serving bowl, it should be hand washed, and if washed repeatedly, it will eventually require renewed application of finish - walnut oil or mineral oil, just like you would renew a cutting board.
