Segmented Cremation Urn - Black Walnut

This unique cremation urn is handcrafted from black walnut, harvested with horses from a friend's farm and milled into lumber on my sawmill. The design entails cutting perfect wedge-shaped segments, gluing them into rings, gluing these ring layers up to form the walls of the urn, then turning and sanding the urn to final shape on the lathe and adding a hand-rubbed oil finish. It's a very precise, time- and skill-intensive process, but it yields a gorgeous product.  The top can be custom-engraved for an extra fee. In terms of selecting a size, keep in mind that cremains require one cubic inch of urn capacity for every pound of body weight; for example a standard 220 cu. in urn can accommodate the cremains of a 220lb person.
