Spalted Maple Bowl with Padauk Accent

This bowl is made of spalted maple I harvested from our property and milled into lumber.  It has gorgeous spalting patterns on the inside and outside of the bowl.  The center accent is of padauk.

This bowl measures 8 1/8" across and 2 5/8" high.  It is finished with all-natural, non-toxic, non-allergenic, food-safe walnut oil.  If used as food serving bowl, it should be hand washed, and if washed repeatedly, it will eventually require a renewed application of finish - walnut oil or mineral oil, just like you would for a cutting board.
